General Election Volunteers Needed
Tuesday, November 3rd from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Herbst UMC will once again be a voting location for the country’s election. Set up for the equipment will be on Monday, November 2nd, Election will be held on the 3rd, and then a tear-down of the equipment will be on the 4th. If you can volunteer to help with meals for the workers or to be available for any miscellaneous needs, see Diane or Tom.
Women’s Group Hosting Veterans Day Breakfast
Wednesday, November 11th
Our community looks forward to a free breakfast each year prepared by our Women’s Group. Teresa Shafer is organizing this year’s event. Save the date. More info to come.
UMC Lebanon Children’s Home Visit

If you are interested in joining several who are planning a trip to Lebanon, IN for lunch and a tour of the Children’s Home that we support, please contact Cheryl or Diane.
Women’s Group Hosting Christmas Gathering
Thursday, December 10th
The Women’s Group voted to change their annual Christmas celebration. This year, they will gather and make “stained glass” crafts. Keep your creation or gift it. It’s your choice! The cost for each person is $15 (financial assistance is available). Please see Sharon or Diane with questions and to choose your design. ALL are welcome.
Growing Young Opportunity
Herbst has remained a church family for more than 140 years. Will we be here for 150? While our hope always rests in God’s goodwill, how will our actions welcome future generations into worship, education, service, and fellowship? If you are interested in learning how we can be intentional in growing younger, please contact Pastor Laura.
Open Heart Women’s Shelter Ministry
Please let Pastor Laura know if there is a Wednesday in August that you can provide snacks for people for our group meeting time. The number of women who meet varies each week. Providing enough for 12 is usually more than enough.

See an opportunity to pray … then pray. At an event? Pray. Comforting someone? Pray. You don’t have to make a spectacle of yourself … you can even pray silently. If you haven’t heard from someone in a while … give ‘em a call. Pray. Let’s all try to make this a practice that comes naturally and genuinely. Let’s pray.

Free Community Easy Gentle Yoga
Mondays at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall
Begin your week with easy, slow movement, relaxing breath practices, and meditation to increase well-being. Bring a mat or blanket and dress comfortably. Practice from the floor, a chair, or standing. No experience necessary. Walk-ins welcome!

Tuesdays @ 6 p.m. at First UMC Annex Building (not meeting July 28)
